PSYCHOANALYTIC TRAINING WITH AIP

The Adelaide Institute of Psychoanalysis offers a comprehensive training programme leading to qualification as a psychoanalyst. This transformative training typically unfolds over a number of years and is designed for those seeking an in-depth career in psychoanalytic practice.

Training is based on a tripartite model with three complementary learning experiences: A personal analysis, theoretical and clinical seminars, and supervised psychoanalysis of two patients.  Together they result in an immersive training experience that provides an immersive foundation for clinical work and puts candidates in the best position to offer psychoanalytic help to others.

AIP is the only society in South Australia that upon completion of analytic training, candidates qualify for full membership with both the Australian Psychoanalytic Society and the International Psychoanalytical Association.

We also welcomes enquiries regarding “remote analysis” arrangements for applicants-based interstate who wish to undertake training with the Adelaide Institute.

Applicants may either submit a formal application or register an expression of interest. If you are considering training, you may wish to begin with an expression of interest. Expressions of interest offer the opportunity for an informal one-to-one interview to explore the programme and address any questions.
